Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore in Michigan
Sleeping Bear Dunes is a place in which to play, dream, inspire, and explore. There are miles of sandy beaches with bluffs that tower 450 feet above Lake Michigan. There is an island lighthouse and coastal villages. The Pierce Stocking Scenic Drive is well worth the time and effort. There is a covered bridge and a wonderful look out at Glen Lake.
Be sure to take your sunscreen and your favorite sand shoes. If you are brave enough, you can hike up to the top of the sand dunes to look our over Lake Michigan.
If you take little ones with you, be alert. There is a sand dune drop off to the lake which is much easier to go down than to come up. Read the warning signs and be cautious.
Sleeping Bear Dunes is a hidden gem in the national park service.

Peter, Good Night
By Alison Weir
Peter, Good Night is a lovely children’s picture book and makes a wonderful bedtime story. Peter is snuggled into bed and looks out the window to see all sorts of interesting things – the stars, the moon, the trees, the birds, clouds, fog, a cat. Each one tells Peter good night.
It was a favorite in our household. I must have read it at a thousand times, with multiple reads in each evening.
