Goals

The traveling book nook is an independent nonprofit organization dedicated to teaching individuals about history and literature through travel. This website can be used in a variety of ways by you to include using it to enrich your understanding of literature and historical events, expanding your understanding of historical events by using literature to help ground the ideas and concepts more easily through the written word, or to use both history and literature to help enhance your knowledge and appreciation of locations around the United States. These articles may be used to enhance individual experience or may be used to aid or supplement curriculum for homeschoolers and professors alike who wish to incorporate real places into their course or to help plan field trips.

The traveling book nook is comprised of a small team enthusiastic about knowledge and teaching. We do not believe that education need only be kept to the classroom or that learning is inherently boring. Education can be brought into the real world where it can be used more effectively to help children and adults understand large or small concepts as well as learn to appreciate the world that is so readily available around them in fun and interesting ways.

As you travel down you will find our library and reading system. The library will help you navigate to our bookshelf or our map where you will find books or locations that you can choose to start from. Our rating system will help identify books and their suitability for certain audiences as well as disclose any and all topics that may be uncomfortable for some readers.
